The Doncaster Mutual Co-operative Society is on the left of the picture, and Glyn's Temperance Hotel is immediately behind the tram. Had our man from Frith turned his camera to the left he would have photographed Theobald & Son the basket makers, and what would become to be known as the Red House; outside here, meetings were often held in the street with arresting results.
