Dorking, South Street 1907

More about this scene
South Street has been less spoiled than other streets in Dorking, and many of its old buildings remain. This picture looks towards the parish church of St Martin, with its 210ft high spire, still the town's dominant feature today. The spire was added to the 19th-century church in 1874 in memory of Bishop Wilberforce.
