More about this scene
Taken from Station Approach, looking towards the village centre, this view is much the same today. The landowner George Frederick Muntz, who gave permission for the railway, made good use of the opportunities it presented. He was responsible for building the splendid shops on the right, as well as an adjacent hotel opposite the station.
