More about this scene
An assortment of small fishing and rowing boats has been hauled safely above the high water mark in this picture of the eastern end of the Marine Parade; the famous white cliffs are visible beyond the castle jetty. The houses along this stretch of the esplanade were all to be destroyed during World War Two, and then replaced by modern flats.
