Dover, The Promenade Pier 1901

More about this scene
This pier was called the Promenade Pier to distinguish it from the Admiralty and Prince of Wales piers, which were both primarily used by steamers and trains. The Promenade Pier opened in 1893, and a pavilion was added six years later, but by 1925 it had become dilapidated. Repair costs were felt to be unjustifiable, and demolition followed in 1927.
