More about this scene

Downholme, where stone houses slope down to the Swale, lies 5 miles west of Richmond. In the village is a 13th-century Norman church. Nearby Walburn Hall - now a farmhouse - was built in Elizabethan times for the Scrope family, and was used in the Civil War as a garrison for King Charles.
