More about this scene
The scenic A32 runs through Droxford, which lies between Alton and Gosport. The first shop on the left is the post office – it has now moved. Next door is the Bakers Arms pub; in 1961 it was taken over by Mr and Mrs Calder-Smith. At that time the soup of the day cost 1s 6d and a gammon with pineapple main course was 9s 6d. This pub is still trading.
