More about this scene
The octagonal building standing in the centre of the high street was erected in 1609 as a market from which the famous locally-produced broadcloth was sold. Its builder, George Luttrell, owned Dunster Castle, which is now in the care of the National Trust. The tower on Conygar Hill was built in 1775 and gives a grand view across the bay.
