More about this scene
This bustling scene captures the essence of many small towns in the 1960s before the arrival of multiple retailers introduced a uniformity to almost every shopping street everywhere. The shop on the right with the sunshade is Hillier's Bacon Curing Company, a firm founded in 1819 by Isaac Hillier in a former Nailsworth woollen mill.
