More about this scene
Leading away from the Market Place (the Market House is visible in the distance) is Silver Street. The posters on the corner shop are advertising 'Dark Passage', noted in the Kingshill view. The venerable Austin Seven must be about twenty years old at the time of this photograph. The sign for the Star Inn evokes more of an image of the wild west than west country.
