Girls' Friendly Society In Ealing Looking For Information

A Memory of Ealing.

I am enquiring if anyone can remember or has knowledge of family members belonging to the Girls' Friendly Society which was based at Boyne Lodge, 22 Florence Road, Ealing, W5. This organisation was run by Gertrude Marye Barnard from about 1890 – 1947 to provide support for Christian women. Any information or photographs would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I remember it but not until about 1953. Barbara Evans.
Can I ask who ran the organisation from your recollection?
I honestly can't remember. I do remember a girl pushed me over to the ground........
I have a postcard with the girls and matron about 1912 at the lodge in Ealing - they are taking tea and look to have been playing croquet

thanks will be in touch.
Dear Barbara,

We communicated a while ago about GFS.

Do you have an email address?
Thanks
Hi Everyone!
I know these posts are a few years old now, but I currently volunteer for GFS and would be interested in learning what you know about us/how you are connected etc. The charity celebrates it's 150th Anniversary next year and we are looking to reconnect with Ex-GFS girls and volunteers to learn more about our past through their stories as well as invite them to become involved in our upcoming celebrations.

If you have any information or stories, feel free to contact me directly or, you can sign up to our 'I was a GFS girl' newsletter which will keep you up to date on what we're up to (https://girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk/exgfs/)
