More about this scene
Jewson & Son the timber merchants - nowadays better known as 'The Jewson Lot' - started their business here in Earith in the 19th century, using the River Ouse to transport their timber. They moved to St Ives in 1988, and their site (the sheds and large building, left), which was derelict for many years, has now been redeveloped with Dutch-style houses in a courtyard setting.
