Equis Coffee Shop

A Memory of Easington Colliery.

I remember spending most of my night in Equis with all my mates and we used to have a great time listening to the jukebox etc, flirting with the lads.
Does anyone remember?

I used to work in Mitchells shoe shop with my friend Midge, which was just below Equis.

We used to go down the beach banks at night and go under the bridge. Sometimes we used to go to the beach with a crate of beer.

I am now a grandmother with two beautiful grandchildren to two beatiful daughters.

Favourite ice cream shop Equi's

I used to spend all my pocket money and wages from my paper rounds in Equis with Anita. She would order in the records that I wanted, and whilst I was looking I would have a hot drink of vimto.
The layout of the shop, with the seating cubicles and juke box at the end bring back happy memories.
Nearly forgot to mention the tutti fruiti ice cream made on site by Anita's father.
I know that her parents passed away, and also heard that she went back to Italy but would like to know if this was correct.
Happy times
