More about this scene
The elderly men discussing their roses over the garden fence at Heatherstone would find it difficult to recognise this view today. The house on the left has been replaced, while the one straight ahead is now tiled and hidden by trees. A small length of the iron fencing remains outside Heatherstone, and the gate piers opposite at Tufnells are still there. A footpath behind the men now leads to a housing estate.
