East Budleigh, The Village c.1955

More about this scene
It is still not unusual to see a scene such as this in East Budleigh, for the farms in the vicinity are very active. On the right-hand side of the street by the parked car is the village inn, the Sir Walter Raleigh, named in honour of East Budleigh's most famous son. In the distance is the parish church of All Saints, built of the local red sandstone. The Raleigh family pew survives, marked by Sir Walter's coat of arms.
