Clare School

A Memory of East Coker.

I was at Clare, from 1958 - 60. Dampier House I think (actually I think it was Eliot House)....I don't know if anyone remembers me? It was an interesting couple of years, roaming free in the Somerset countryside - a little bit like "Lord of the Flies" perhaps?! I also remember spending a little time preparing Brympton for occupation in the summer of 1960 before I moved on.

I am searching for my best pal, Tony Fussell. Is anyone in touch with any other old boys?

Kind regards to all

Kevin Hunt

Can't remember you you Kevin but I was at Clare school 1958 until I went to Brympton left in1962 I remember Some names Colin piper , Bradbrook who I think was killed in a car crash . Wade who I think used to live in Yeovil I'm on Facebook David Gammon
Hello David. Thanks for commenting. I am sorry to say I cannot recall you either, or the other names you mention; with the possible exception of Wade.....It might interest you to now that I visited Brympton a couple of weeks ago for the first time since Clare. It was not quite as I remember it - the lake and the staircase were "in the wrong places" but, then, I was only there for one or, possibly two, days 57 years ago! With best wishes.
For any old Clare boys who might read this I found Tony F!
Hello Old Clarions (if that is, indeed, the correct appelation...?). I have sad news to relate to those that knew Tony Fussell (who I only found again, through this site, this year). He died suddenly, in October, at his home in South Africa. Very happy memories of our time together at Clare and my sincere condolences to his family.
