More about this scene
In this picturesque of a long-vanished world, chickens are foraging for food and children playing by the pond. Later, the hamlet was engulfed by a major cross-roads and roundabout —the intersection of the A127 Romford to Southend Road and the A128.The brick-built hilltop church is said to be the burial place of the head of Anne Boleyn.
