More about this scene
The fencing on either side of the river has now been painted white. In the distance, the telegraph pole and phone box have been removed. There is now a monument with a cross at the top, to the left, where the telephone box was. In 1965 one of the two-bedroom cottages beside the river sold for £2,350; it would now cost £235,000.
