A Memory of Eastleigh.

I spent my first years at 115 Leigh Rd and then moved across the road to 38-40 Leigh Rd-right across from Nutbeem Rd. I remember Stanley Brehaut the photographer. I went to Barton Peveril and then on to Loughborough to run for their athletics team before leaving for the US and now living in Tampa Florida. If anybody remembers me please contact me.jeffkrtg@aol.com
so good to look back on these photos. I studied at the Library and my first football games as a small bot was in the park across from the bandstand. Played a lot of football and running at Fleming Park I remember when the Good Companions opened. Went there the day it opened. Behind there was a allotment where we grew vegetables. Pirellis just up the rd and Caustons. I remember that pool too!
They were good times..went fishing in Bishopstoke and learned some lessons on Farley Mount:)
What was the name of the sports shop off of Leigh Rd downtown? opposite the Salvation Army place
Opposite the police station I always remember somebody lived on the corner with 2 Borzoi dogs.
Went to dances at the town hall. I went to Toynbee Rd Primary School where I first fell in love with my teacher Miss Hebbs aaah:)
PLEASE CONTACT ME WHO REMEMBERS ME....I WAS THERE AS A YOUNG MAN FROM AROUND 1955-69 YEARS

If memory serves me correctly, the Sports Shop was run by Mr Welch and the shop had his name.
It was situated on the upper end of High Street, close to Leigh Road. I was a frequent shopper there as a lad up to the time I left Eastleigh in 1957
