Hopedene

A Memory of Elswick.

I was in Hopedene Unmarried Mothers' Home in January 1962, this place was run by the Salvation Army. I left in March 1962. I made a few friends but alas I cannot remember thier names, my daughter was born there, we were reunited in 2006. I would love to hear from anyone who was there at the same time.

Hi do you remember Patricia Dorothy storey/woods(my mother)Could even had surname Lyons. I was born 1964 but I am looking for my sister who would have been born 1961-63 in unmarried mothers home or lodge run by ??? All the memories my mum had were not nice ones
I was in there in 1964 feb till mid June . I remember a girl called Pat who had already had a child somewhere else and was now having another one . I seem to think she had been a nurse . She didn’t want her parents to know where she was so to help her out she used my home address for correspondence . I don’t know or can’t remember what happened to her as I left rather suddenly
