Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

I too remember the stepping stones, just past them was a kind of a cave. The picture shows the chequers tiles. There was a bit of a hill behind them, we used to rolly-poly down the hill. My sisters would Putt on the putting green or play tennis. There was a little shop where you coud get tea and bags of Smiths Crisps with a little Blue bag of salt.
I remember the Pleasauce well. I used to like going through the steppin stones. Further over there was a section which went a bit underground, it was all a big adventure for a child. We sometimes watched shows on the bandstand . Those were the days .
My nan lived at 11 Basket Gardens, which was near the pleasaunce, and she would take us there when we visited her. It was a wonderful place, my favourite being the stepping stones which led through a small stream, My school, the Gorden, was at Wellhall and I would spend my lunch breaks there when I was older. As a child I lived with my parents in a prefab in Corelli Rd SE3. We used to walk through the Brook estate, passing more prefabs to reach the Coronet Cinema in Well Hall. On a Sunday we sometimes watched dad play bowls at the Pleasaunce. During the 1960s I lived in Kingsground with my young family, looking out to Mitchells farm, not sure if this still exists. Happy days!!
