A Memory of Enfield.

My parents moved to Enfield in 1936 when I was 6 years old. we lived in Norfolk Rd Ponders End.
I loved Saturday Minors at the Picture Palace ( The Plaza ) seeing Buck Jones the cowboy and Flash Gordon,
It was damaged by bombing and never opened again as a Cinema, but there were so many others' within easy
reach. Leaving school at 14 I worked at BERCO,s factory in Queens way, the first dance I attended, also while14, was
Dinah's at St Georges Hall Freezywater and went there many times, I wish I could remember Dinah's surname.
I well remember listening to the Brass Bands playing on the stand in Ryans Field as we called it. I married Pamela
Lavallin from Broadlands Close, we met at a Square Dance in The Barn off Broadlands Close in 1952

We lived in Enfield, St James Road, Enfield Highway and my dad was a cinema organist (used to come up out of the floor!) so people may have seen him at the Rialto and others. This would have been in the 1940s/50s. (I'm Doug Dumont)
Yes the organ was popular in those far off days I must have seen and heard
your father playing many times
