More about this scene
The street patterns of Evesham have probably changed little since the days of the battle, when many of the rebels fleeing from that desperate fight were slaughtered amongst its houses. It is easy to see here how the Bell Tower dominates the neighbourhood - it was originally designed partly as a landmark to attract and guide the faithful across the Vale of Evesham.
