The White Swan is on the right-hand corner. The postmaster stands in the doorway opposite; above is a sign for his billiard saloon. Posters advertise films at the Doric in Newmarket. Adjoining the post office is Enjoyable Cottage; then comes the roof of the Primary School, and Russell Villas of 1885. The furthest buildings were demolished in the 1970s.
