Spellow Lane

A Memory of Fairfield.

Our family lived in Spellow Lane, we went to St Lawrences School off Walton Road. We also went to St Lawrences church, Barlows Lane. My mum and dad, Flo and Harold, or Bill as he was known, Whiteside and us children, Brenda, Shirley and Alan lived in no 36. Next door to us was a school. I thought it ws a girls school but my sister says it was a boys school. I also remember a big ice cream parlour called Aindows on the corn of Barlows Lane. A few shops along on Walton Road side my grandmother has a shop which sold soft drink sweets etc if anyone has any photos of Spellow Lane and the soft drinks shop I would love a copy the soft drinks shop, was a sort of cafe - young people would meet up there.
