More about this scene
The number 19 Dreadnought tram approaching (left) bears a poster advertising the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, where 'Whirled into Happiness' was being staged. The landmark White Church is just visible in the background, and to the right is the popular Fairhaven Hotel. The Gordon Road and Commonside areas of Ansdell still had whitewashed fishermen's cottages.
