More about this scene
The late Victorian and Edwardian buildings are part of the expansion of Felixstowe as a seaside resort. This was given impetus by the visit of the Empress of Germany and the discovery of spa water in 1891. Wakelin's (left, in Sutton House) declared itself to be 'the cycle, sport and baby carriage store of the county'.
