Fond Memories
A Memory of Feltham.
My uncle was also a train driver out of Feltham in the 50’s and 60’s even drove the old steam trains. I caught many a 152 bus from Feltham Station. Attended Cardinal Road School from 1955-1961 then Lafone from 1961-1966. Worked in the Clarks Shoe shop in Hounslow and DER, Twickenham Green from 1966-1968, then moved to Cornwall. My family lived in Wigley Road, Hanworth and Sunbury on Thames. Have fond memories of the Airman, pup and fish and chip shop! Also The Mount. I can’t believe how the area has changed. Visit occasionally but hardly recognise most places, so sad as nothing has improved, just gone down hill. My sisters and I use to walk from Wiley Road to Feltham Park, over the “Back Bridge” or past the Station to the other side of the hill.
I Often look at photos in various galleries at old Feltham, Hanworth etc. They bring back so many memories.
I’ve lived in Cornwall for over 50 years but still call Hanworth ‘home’.
