Convalescent Home Primrose Valley, Filey

A Memory of Filey.

Can anyone help? I have been trying to find information about the convelescent home at Primrose Valley in Filey. I believe I was sent there in the 1950's but nothing's coming up on the web. I was sent there to convalesce after many throat infections. I was chatting to someone who lived in Filey but had no idea of the place I was speaking about.

Hello my sisters and we're sent their in 1967 the home was still standing back in 2010 sad to say not a great experience
For three little girls aged 5 7 10
Our father had died and mum was had just given birth to our new baby sister
Mum must have needed time to adjust
I don't think I have ever got over the feeling of abandonment. Many children came and went during our time there
Boys and girls all had their own reasons for being there.
As a boy in the 70s I used to play with some of the children from the home I've been trying to find out more about the children, to see if there still around, my mum and dad had a caravan on primrose Valley and I would spend my 6 weeks holiday there please reply if you were there then
Hi
Sorry I was there in the 50's
Hi. I thought the home was called Habershon House. Used to be a convalescent home but was later used by Rotherham Council as a study centre for children. It seems now though that Bourne Leisure/Haven are about to raise it to the ground so that they can put 17 static caravans on the site.
Grrrr!!!!!
