Fittleworth, The Village 1908

More about this scene
Across the Arun we head north to Fittleworth, a village running north from the River Rother up to the Petworth to Pulborough road, now the A283. This view looks north-east along the A283 past its junction with Church Lane on the right in front of White Horse Cottage, whose chimney stack is here covered in creeper. This is an excellent 15th- century timber-framed house, and this view shows its rear wings. The main road curves in front of the cottage, while the lane continuing straight on leads past Fittleworth House. Inland West Sussex From Bramber to Boxgrove
