Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

This street was named in honour of the 8th Earl of Cork and Orrery. The Gaumont Cinema and the Tool and Gauge Centre were demolished when the Westway shopping centre was built in 1974. Ahead is Singers (now empty), whose decorative metal works include the renowned Boadicea group on the Thames embankment. The road ahead leads to what was the St Louis Convent.

William Ford Saddler, Collar And Harness Maker, Of Frome Selwood

William Ford was one of the many skilled horse collar and harness makers in the Frome area in the 1700s. Such equipment was vital in those days when horses were depended upon for farm work and transport. Benjamin Newport And Sons , Pork Butchers Frome.

My grandmother was Dorothy Mary Emma Faulkner nee Newport daughter and only surviving child of Percy Benjamin Newport and Florence nee James. She was born 21st July 1900, Percy and his brother Herbert were the sons of Benjamin Newport, they were all butchers, Percy was a bacon curer, Herbie was also the Fire Chief I understand, my mum remembers seeing him in his very ornate uniform. My Best Memories
I was born in Frome and I left when i was 11 years old,I moved with my dad to Bristol. But I have to be honest, since I have left Frome about ten years ago I miss my life I had there. Even though I have been living in Bristol for the past ten years, it's never felt like home. When I go to visit friends in Frome I get butterflies in my tummy and it feels like I'm going home. My Last Year In Frome
I was born and raised in Frome, West End and then we moved to Green Lane.  We emigrated to Canada, I did not want to leave Frome at all. I still miss home!. The pretty streets and the steep hills. I can remember swimming in the river, and fishing in it. Every Wednesday going to the market after school to pet the animals. Mum used to buy us fish for dinner every Friday night at a fish shop on Cheap Street. Still ...see more

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
