Frome, Quaint Stone Houses, Broad Street c.1950

More about this scene
These late 19th-century houses were in Broad Street, and were demolished during the Trinity clearances in the early 1960s. The stone portico in the far distance is the entrance to the school in Milk Street. We may be thankful that not all houses were lost to the clearances; those that remain have been sympathetically modernised.
