Frome, The Bridge 1957

More about this scene
There has been a bridge here over the River Frome since the Middle Ages. An unusual aspect of the bridge are the three-storey houses, dating from the 19th century. The road opposite leads to Willow Vale. The bunting probably means that it is carnival time, which is held annually in September; the first carnival was held in 1927.
