Happy Days In Hurlingham Road

A Memory of Fulham.

I was born in 1947 in Hurlingham Road on the corner of Dolby Road. As kids we used to play in Dolby Road as there was only one car owner so not much traffic. Sometimes the car wouldn't start with the 'car handle' so we all used to push it. Every Sunday my Dad used to take me and my Brother to see my Gran who lived the other side of the iron bridge (the pedestrian bridge adjacent the District line railway bridge) on the way back we used to feed the seagulls in Bishops Park then go to the sweet shop near the Fulham Pottery, the owner was Alf Bond, the one armed ex football referee. My Dad was a Milkman for Hickmans Dairy. Happy days. I often get on the train to Putney bridge and walk down Hurlingham Road to Parsons Green.
