More about this scene
Overlooking Minard Bay, an inlet on the north side of Loch Fyne, stands the 19th-century Minard Castle. Many other castles of the 18th and 19th centuries are no longer with us; the towered and battlemented Loudon Castle, with its sweeping raised driveway to the front entrance, built in 1811, was gutted in 1943, and Dupplin Castle was demolished in 1967.
