More about this scene

Perched on a windy hill a mile or two north of Portscatho, Gerrans has been called a 'plain-looking village'. The lofty granite spire crowning the battlemented tower of St Gerant's Church was a vital day-mark for Cornish mariners. Though it appears hoary and ancient, the church was almost totally rebuilt in 1848.
