Glasson, The Bridge c.1965

More about this scene
Glasson Dock Bridge connects the two halves of the village. Because of its weight restrictions, many of the lorries going in and out of the dock had to go half a mile or more inland before a strong enough bridge could take them over to the West Quay. The bridge today has been rebuilt and strengthened to take the heavy traffic, and is fitted with traffic lights. West Quay was always the visitors' favourite, with its ice cream shop, cafe, fresh fish shop and the Dalton Arms.
