The Clock Tower is a modern structure built in 1926 to commemorate Goole's centenary; to the rear is the Victorian Market Hall. It is nice to see the Palace open as a real cinema before the onset of the multi-screen visual supermarkets.

I visited Goole in September 2008 in search of information on the families of Bernard Knowles Brook and his son Matthew Moorhouse Brook, who was my grandfather. I obtained important but tragic news about Bernard and his accidental drowning at Keadby in July 1876.
