I'm writing on behalf of my husband Terry Beddow who lived on Donnison Street and also, attended St Marks school. His older brother Fred also went to St. Marks. Happy memories, Terry served his apprenticeship at Holden & Brooks near Clowes Street. Then onto ICL, Wenlock Way, where he met me I originally came from Gorton, Benster Street off Taylor Street, all my family lived there or round about. Attended St. Francis school, headmaster 'Biddy McHugh' everyone was frightened of him, can you imagine today in this woke world we live in. I had happy memories, Whit Walks, Gorton Park, Belle Vue especially the fireworks. Have been back Taylor Street has completely changed (for the better) Benster street and others no longer exist. Xx
