Corporation Street Gorton

A Memory of Gorton.

In 1911 my great uncle, Bernard Tomkys, was aged 54 and lived with his sister Mildred (single and aged 45) and a domestic servant called Bessie Hughes (single and aged 19). Bernard Tomkys was a doctor, a GP in medicine and lived at 30 Corporation Street, Gorton, Manchester. Unfortunately I never knew him but would be interested to know if anyone remembers hearing a relative perhaps mentioning a Doctor Tomkys? He had his surgery in his terraced house on Corporation Street, so I would imagine that he was well known up to maybe 1920.
