Hi Mary,
I don't know if you ever found any information about Britons Row. Here is a link to a description of it's location. http://www.beggarsbush.org.uk/beggars-bush-gorton-manchester-1869/

Hello Mary , yes it is called Britons row and it is at the bottom of kirk street and you can still walk down to the stream as you put it which is called gore brook and the pub that stands at the bottom is still open called the vale cottage a good little pub it is too there used to be cottages attached to the pub but they have long since gone put as I said the pub still remains
Hello Mary,
I remember Briton's Row very well. It was just opposite my dad's pigeon pen and next to the Vale Cottage pub at the bottom of Kirk Street, Gorton. I spent many hours as a youngster/teenager on the "pen" and I remember two drinking mates of my dad's, Frank Gallimore (Gally) and Ken Tyler who both lived in Briton's Row. I have a rather poor quality pic of "Gally" digging on his own pen. Sadly the row of cottages were demolished either in the 1960s or maybe the 1980s. Happy days.
