West Gorton Memories

A Memory of Gorton.

When iwas little i remember my street i lived on it was lynn street west gorton manchester and i wish we was still living there it was a area where everybody knew each other and the freinds i made are never off my mind we had fun playing on the croft and making a makeshift swing with a old tyre and playing on it for hours i remember the cafe on the corner of our street and most of the shops on hyde road the english chip shop the space invader game the chinese chip shop post office hardware shop corner of ashmore street saving up in a xmas saving club to buy our presents and tree the winter months closing in the coal fire on and making toast the snow on the ground gosh it was cold up to the door step we had to get rid the shovel out wishing it would melt the cold nights in sat near the fire and bed time come under the blankets trying to keep warm but going to the toilet was a nightmare the cold seat and the dark of the night was a scary thing to never forget i ran into our house and switched on the stair light i got into bed and wanted to get warm but their was a cold breeze coming under the door i couldnt wait till morning came to sit near the fire again the house was cold but it was nice because it was full of love and thats all i needed was my home in a area that i loved and a street what i called home......
