A couple of old villagers pass the time of day with a youngster in the West Cumbrian village of Gosforth. Gosforth is best known for its outstanding collection of Anglo-Saxon and Danish sculpture at the parish church of St Mary, the most famous of which is the intricately-carved 14ft high Gosforth Cross.
