Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. The destroyer HMS 'Gleaner' is anchored out in the London river where it becomes the Thames estuary. Gravesend was the place where those who had died at sea would be offloaded for burial in the town cemetery.

St Mary’s Graves End
My name is Gary Canham, my brother Richard and I were placed into care at St Mary’s School in Graves End on the 24/04/1961, aged 3 and 2, we remained there till being returned to our mother and stepfather on 22/06/1963. I have horrid memories of this time in care with beatings and mental abuse from the Nuns and Priests, I was separated from my brother due to age differences but as a 3 year old I did not ...see more

Megan Plays Football

Before the days of viral videos and memes there was Pathe News and runaway sexism. I played for Milton Road C of E primary school football team against a team featuring (shock!) a girl. St Mary‘S Children’s Home For Babies
Hi, I was taken to St Mary‘s Nursery, Glen Park View, Leith Road, Gravesend as a baby awaiting adoption. I am curious to know more about this place but cannot find much information, if any on the internet. I know it was run by nuns and would love to hear from anyone who knew the nursery, was placed there as a baby too, or even better worked there. I was there from February 1972 until the end of March 1972. Any information would be greatly appreciated Many Thanks Alison

HI my dad was at St.Marys i think between 1945 and 1952 when he was then "shipped" to Freemantle Australia. Just wondered if anyone remembers him. He then ended up at Bindoon Western Australia

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
