More about this scene

When the Domesday survey was carried out in 1086, Budworth was listed as one of the largest parishes in all England. Since the survey also listed it as having a priest, there would probably have been a wooden church here at that time (the survey only listed stone buildings, wooden buildings were ignored). Today's church of St Mary and All Saints is a stunning building, and dates from the 14th century.

My Childhood

My memories relates to 19yrs of living in Great Budworth, my father David Eaton grew up there to, as did my nanna! The memories I have of Great Budworth are as precious as the village, they never go away, I went to the village primary school, was baptised, confirmed, in the church, as well as being part of the church choir, and the maypole at the village fetes, I also used to work as a mothers help to Penney ...see more

Memories Of School At Gt Budworht Pickmere
My first teacher was Mrs Dishman [infants]. Miss Cawley [juniors]. Mr Brown ? the Headmaster. I recall a Richard Cox whose mother was a sort of janitor cum secretery, also Joyce Dean who lived near the pond at Pickmere. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
