Great Holland, The Ship Inn c.1955

More about this scene
The Ship was once famous for its quoits lawn. It hosted the annual Peachey Quoits Cup Championship - Mr Peachey was the owner of some nurseries in the village. One wonders if the quoits were made at the local foundry, Ratcliff's, whose usual output was shears and other agricultural implements.
