Pike 'o' Stickle (2,323 ft) is the thimble-shaped peak prominent on the skyline in this view taken from near the head of Great Langdale. In the scree slope just visible below the summit of Pike 'o' Stickle, a prehistoric axe factory was discovered: here, the hard volcanic tuff was shaped into axes and transported all over Britain.
