My Years At Great Saunders School.

A Memory of Great Sanders School.

I was at the school from 1971 till 76. The head master was Hugh Fletcher, and the school principal Jasper French. The school was a home from home. I was allowed to join the scouts and also a model railway club in Bexhill. The teachers that I remember are Mr Parks, Mr Winspear, Mr Betts and Mrs Day. Happy days!

It was John French and Hugh Fletcher who ran the school, Don Simpson, was a great house master, however the was a lot of bullying amount the boys and the staff just added to the problems, I saw John French outside a gay club in Birmingham years later, he admitted to sleeping with one of the boys which at that time would have made him a paedophile also found out that many staff including Don Simpson and Mr Morris were also gay, they are all probably dead now through age I know the don Simpson had cancer and was living in North Wales in 1991 he was living Paul the gardener who was also gay, for me personally this school was run very badly and I was raped by other boys there for almost 4 years , I found out that shortly after I left the school was closed down. my name was different then and I changed my name legally due to the pain I suffered while at the school.
