An excursion steamer manoeuvres alongside Princes Pier. Owned by the Glasgow & South Western Railway, the pier was rebuilt and extended between 1892 and 1894, and more than £20,000 was spent by the company on alterations to the pier railway station. The new buildings featured four Italianate towers constructed of red Ruabon brick.
