Holidays

A Memory of Groeslon.

My mother & father moved to london in 1958 for my dad to start work as a teacher. I was born in 1959 in Bangor (they brought me back home to be born), but from the age of 5(ish) I remember coming back to either Tyn Lon, where my mum's parents lived, or Groeslon every christmas, easter and the summer holidays. We stayed with my grandparents in Glan Gors and had many a happy holiday there. I remember going to church every Sunday (Gosen) while there, and my auntie Nance was also married there with myself and brother being page boys. I remember making friends with another, Gareth Griffiths who was the son of the village policeman, last I heard he was a solicitor in Caernarfon. Unfortunately, my dad Eric Griffiths, has Altzheimers now and is unable to drive. But every so often mum & dad come up by train to see my auntie & uncles around the area and also try to get as many of the family as possible to stay at Morfa Lodge, Dinas Dinlle every year.
